Movie Review: The Adam Project

Netflix

Ryan Reynolds The Adam Project is streaming on Netflix is it worth a watch?

Directed by Shawn Levy, Adam Reed join forces with his 12-year-old self to save the future. Also, Adam is dealing with the passing of his dad alongside his mother. On this thrilling adventure, Adam meets a series of villains who will stop him from saving the future.

Netflix

The Adam Project is a victory for Netflix for multiple reasons. First, the film includes a star stuck ensemble (Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, and Zoe Saldaña) who all work together to bring a unique story to the streaming service. Second, The film is entertaining, touching, and very enjoyable. I went into this film not knowing absolutely nothing about the plot. Reynolds once again shines in a role that shows his great comedic timing. Reynold acting varies from acting foolish to putting the hat of a serious actor in emotional moments in the film. He does it all well.

One element that I believe would of made the film stronger was more screen time for Zoe Saldaña. Her character is so interesting. Also, Saldaña and Reynold love story isn’t developed enough. There was definitely room to refine their story. Im hoping a sequel can explore that.

Netflix

The Adam Project is more than a sci-fi adventure. It touches themes about grief, letting go, and starting all over again. Expect to laugh, cry, and perhaps desiring or wanting to go give your dad a hug after watching.

The Adam Project is now streaming on Netflix.
