Movie Review: “A Quiet Place: One Day” goes Beyond a monstrous apocalypse, delivering a powerful message about humanity

Lupita Nyong’o as “Samira” in A Quiet Place: Day One from Paramount Pictures.

Paramount Pictures is known for great storytelling and creating new stories in already established and box office hit franchises. “A Quiet Place” introduced in 2019 has become a global sensation with general audiences for creating new fears. In the prequel, you will meet Samira (Lupita Nyong’o), a woman fighting an illness in the heart of New York City. The unexpected happens when a horrific invasion hits the city while Samira travels on a field trip with other patients from the hospital where she is being treated. Samira discovers that the only way she can survive is to remain silent. She encounters a series of individuals fighting for their own lives, while Samira is also seeking the true meaning of existence.

Writer and director Michael Sarnoski delivers an extraordinary story that goes beyond its apocalypse event. Sarnoski writes a story about a woman who is reconnecting with her past, seeking clarification and tranquility. Through moments of intensity and self-reflection throughout the film, Sarnoski gives a powerful message that will remain with you after concluding the film. The film also consists of excessively immersive sound editing, which translates to a unique personality and is breathtaking. In moments, sound is the most powerful tool that helps move the plot forward in a positive direction. Although the sets look like a meanless imitation of New York City, the journey of the well-written characters makes the film favorable and satisfying.
