‘Cocaine Bear’ is based on the 1985 true story about a black bear who overdosed on cocaine. The cocaine is lost by drug traffickers in Tennessee. ‘Cocaine Bear’ offers a dark comedy that is hysterical and declares that sometimes even the most uneventful true stories need to be heard. ‘Cocaine Bear’ offers a range of unique characters that encounter the wild bear, which adds something fun. Now, it’s unsure how many of these characters are true, but it all feels like good, joyful fun.

While watching, some not-so-great flicks like “Snakes on the Plane” or “Sharknado” will come to mind, but ‘Cocaine Bear’ stands high above with its own BIG feet and voice. It displays something that we haven’t seen in a while, like creative WTF contagious laughter scenes. I tell you, the bear is on a wild one! Director Elizabeth Banks and Writer Jimmy Warden add edgy, heartwarming, and emotional characteristics to its character that move the story at a good pace. For example, the black bear has a background story that will have you in positive awe.

“Cocaine Bear” takes the risk of touching on drug usage, but it’s not at a point that is influential. It’s important to remember that all actions characters take are fictional and placed for comedy. Although it’s inspired by true events, we are not aware if all characters in the film are true. It’s all in good fun and should be taken with a grain of salt, at least this interpretation. In all well-meaning, ‘Cocaine Bear’ is ridiculously funny!
