In “DC League of Super-Pets,” Krypto the Super-Dog, and a group of misfit animals join forces together after the Justice League is kidnapped by evil guinea pig Lulu. Together, Krypto and his new friends must fight all the tricks Lulu puts in their way. Will Lulu rule the world?
Directors Jared Stern and Sam Levine begin their film with a traditional introduction seen in most pet films.(pet as a baby with the supporting character relationship blossoming with time). Stern and Levin miss an opportunity to tell the background story of Krypto. Sadly, they move directly to the relationship between him and Superman, attracting the audience with something known.

Perhaps it would have been a better choice to have a background story of Kypto the Super-Dog at the beginning of the film, but Stern and Levine’s unique storytelling is worth your time after Superman gets kidnapped. The story moves to Kypto’s feelings and desires, creating a purpose for the viewer to care. The film is easy to follow and includes a soundtrack that adds a unique experience while watching. Also, The film offers a unique animation interpretation of DC comics superheroes that is new and fresh. The action sequences are to die for.

The film includes a star-struck cast. Dwayne Johnson as Krypto the Super-Dog is easily recognizable as he does not change his voice whatsoever. He is great, but I wished he challenged himself to make the voice distinctive. Kevin Hart as Ace is hysterical and inspiring, making you feel a heart-warming sensation. Kate McKinnon as Lulu steals the show with a script that she makes her own. She will have you laughing out loud every time she delivers a line.
DC League Of Super-Pets provides fine entertaining action and is well written. Krypto’s story is special and sincere. It delivers a message of unconditional love and friendship. After watching the film, you will want to go home and hug your furry friends.
